When Lily Goes For A Walk

When Lily goes for a walk
She meanders in the short grass
Explores in the tall grass
Wanders into the trees
(Letting the branches touch her face just to see what that feels like)
(she ignores the asphalt path that I typically march along)
Because

It’s

Not

Relevant

She pauses
And looks
For a long long long long time

No agenda

Just present

In the moment

Child like

Faith

Behaving like a child too much indulged

Morning Walk

Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:5(NKJV)

After a day and a night and a day
Of sorrows and bitterness remembered
I awake and

The sun is shining
The birds are singing
The fish are swimming
The dogs are barking
The children are playing
The frost is melting
The trees are budding and

I remember that

You

Are

Love

And

You order

And

You know

All things well

All

Shattered

He heals the wounds of every shattered heart.
Psalm 147.3 (TPT)

When the centre
Is shattered
By

Sin
Sloth
Silence
Selfishness
Squandering

Oh Poppa

Repair
Restore
Renovate
Resuscitate
Rehabilitate

I wait for you

I'm bored of my brokenness

You

Who make all things new

Make my heart new

Please

The Text

The Unwelcome Voice
Interrupts

Comes unbidden
And

Disrupts

And

Discombobulates

And

Memories
(now mostly healed)
Threaten to fester
And

I

Call to You Jesus

For help

And

You

Rescue

Me

again

Offence

“Alexander the metalworker did me a great deal of harm.
The Lord will repay him for what he has done.”
2 Timothy 4:14 (NIV)

You
who
See all
Know all
Understand all

Keep track

I gratefully release
All offences to you

My ragged temper
and
Intemperate grace
Are unequal to the task.

The Courtroom

You render all things well
Knower of all truth
Understander of all things
Your judgments are true, perfect and wise

When the accuser stands before You and

makes

his

case
(against me)

In that magnificent courtroom over which You preside
I can only but agree and repent in dust and ashes

And then

Hide myself

Align myself with

You

Jesus

Redeemer of my soul

Prevaricate

"Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, “When you continue to embrace all that I teach, you prove that you are my true followers. For if you embrace the truth, it will release true freedom into your lives.”
John 8:31-32 (TPT)

The truth
The whole truth
And nothing but the truth

The prevaricating from the podium is
Killing us
Literally
(okay not literally but you know what I mean)

Spirit come
Teach
Release
Set the captives free

We welcome
Invite
Long for
Your fullness

Your embrace

Check myself

I checked myself
(in Lethbridge the other day)

Because I saw (not) you

(but)

your Race
your Affect

(and)

I felt

Fear
(and)
Judgement

(and so)

I
Had
To

Check myself

And shout silently
To you
To You Poppa
To you my soul

I'm sorry
I'm sorry
I'm sorry

I didn't
See

You
