BEHOLD I AM DOING  A NEW THING

I can’t wait to get back to normal

BEHOLD I AM doing a new thing

I can’t wait to get back to normal

BEHOLD I AM

We’re almost back to normal

I AM

We are

Back

Back

Is there

Is there a place where my whole self is welcome?
My whole self
The good parts of my story
The bad parts of my story
The glorious parts of my story
The boring parts of my story
The ‘how do I talk about this’ parts of my story
The ‘I know you’ve heard it before’ parts of my story
Is there a place?
Is there?

Chance

We had a chance
Were given a chance
To imagine a different world
(even given a trial run)
A different way
Better even
(might have been)
To leave behind
The idols of our habits
Have we squandered it?
Will we get another?

On the Shelf

On the shelf
For a while
(He put me there)
It would be dumb of me
To crawl off
To do the former things

Forget the former things
I am doing something new
(He says)

If

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
and will forgive us our sins
and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9 NIV

We do the one thing (the hard thing, kinda)
He does the two things (the important things, the needed things)
If

Perplexed

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed”
 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 NIV

Perplexed
Today I’m not going try to figure out
the un-figurable
I’ll trust instead
That
You know what You’re doing
And that
You’ve got this

With Dad at the Saskatoon Auction Mart

"Keep your hands in your lap
You don't want to buy anything
Like a sheep or something"
(but I do)
And the great crowd of men
And the noise
And the smell of salt and and hay and oil and manure
And we're going to the concession
(I can't believe it!)
And I'm going to get a Vico (that's chocolate milk) and a bag of chips
And you're getting a hamburger (too much for me)
And I reach up to take your hand in the crush
But it's not you
And I freeze

But
Then

I find you
And I take your hand
And everything is alright with the world again
And it's the best day
And I'm with my Dad
And I could have bought a sheep (or a peacock)
And I have a Vico and a bag of chips

Eight.
