Colleen

Thank you for visiting my poetry site. I hope it makes you comfortable and a little uncomfortable too in the way that thinking about new things can.

I’m a nature loving, book reading, movie watching, gardening, baking, quilting, singing, knitting, wife to one, mom to four, mom in law to four, grandma to four Jesus following, story loving, creative soul who writes to express the common (beautiful, painful and mundane) experiences of our journey. (Grammar and punctuation are my nemesis)

I am grateful for the hospitality of the Treaty 7 territory peoples, the Blackfoot Nations including Siksika,  Piikani,  Kainai, the Tsuut’ina Nation and Stoney Nakoda First Nations on whose traditional lands and I reside.

What People Say

Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood.

God is the perfect poet.

Robert Browning

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness.

Robert Frost
